  1. For everyone asking for the code if it happens to ask. Try your generic passcodes company’s set like 0000 or 1234 usually is only 4 numbers sometimes have letters

  3. Do you have a webcam on this laptop? I did not had one on mine and swapped the mic behind the bezel with a webcam of this model and drilled a hole and done. Its a nice and easy upgrade

  4. I have the same laptop. My husband installed I7-920XM (4 cores) processor and 16 GB RAM memory (2 X 8GB). The computer a liitle heating, but accepteble. Keep in mind It is possible only if you have DELL E6410 with NVIDIA video processor. Bicase I7 4 cores processors do not have integrated video. Have a good luck

  5. Had the same non-sense with a bent pin by the arrow/keyed portion of chip. TRIED floss, sewing thread, & FINALLY ended up using a single edge 39748 (100PK) Harbor Freight razor blade which lined up the bent pin with the STRAIGHT PINS …. wouldn't be that bad if I had all the proper tools to hold the CPU, magnify it, & then lite it…….but HEY, for $14 off of ebay for a CPU & how often I do this? GOOD ENOUGH!!!!…..I didn't care (though I did, pin came PRE-BENT, 1st thing I checked B4 installing it)……it worked….IF I REMEMBER i'll update this vid 2C if it's worth the hassle. Unless it shuts down or causes errors from over heating or other issues…for $14 probably can't hurt…though it still might & I still don't care.

  6. Great guide, but if you can, use the i7 720Qm/840qm instead!(yes they work on this computer*)
This guide is excelent in showing how to upgrade, but the truth is that the bump from an i5 540m to an i7 620/640 isent that much. You dont get any core increase or ram increase, only a slight cpu speed increase.
On the I7 720QM/840qm on the other hand you double both cores and threads, in addition to that this CPU supports 1333 memory, where the 620m only supports 1066.(not sure if the board supports 1333 but cpuz says so). So for those seeking a top upgrade id suggest that. The only downside is that going from the 540/620 35W Cpu to the 720qm/840qm 45w cpu might create some heat issues and also higher battery drain. There are some better aftermarket coolers doh.

    * Some sources claim that the E6410 have 2 GPUS, either intel or Nvidia. And its only the Nvidia that support the quad core cpus. I cannot say for sure, so be sure of that before ordering.

You get a lot more bang for your buck on an SSD. So always do that before any CPU upgrade!

  7. How did this new CPU do in terms of heat? Often upgrading cpus isent great since the laptop just isent ready for the increased heat and thus overheat.

  8. Hlw sir my lap top is same i 5 but some days i m open chrome and 5,to 8 browser open then power off my laptop heating problem in my laptop i m use this laptop for 4 years .what a change in this laptop
    I5 4 gb ram 250 gb hard

  9. hello
i have dell latitude E6410 the same than you have
but i have i3 380m and nvidia Graphic card
    NVS 3100M
can i upgarde as you or not
    thank you

  10. I have the same model of laptop, one time I tried to add another ddr3 Memory of 4Gb to have 8Gb but when I press the ON button, It just show a white screen :O…. Also I have a problem with my power supply adapter I think I know why is that problem, I thinks it's because I have one of 60W, but could you tell me how much Watts supply your adapter?… Please, because that problem make the bios limit the CPU speed :C in like a 60%… Also the PC do not charge until I power off the PC xC… The battery works well because it have a normal duration when I charge it… hehe… my pc it's weird… QwwwwwwwwwQ…

  11. I was having trouble securing the CPU, so the laptop couldn't start. I didn't notice the lock signs at first, but this vid helped me:) Fortunately I didn't screw up anything. It turned out by securing/tightening the CPU in the socket, you are also contacting all the pins, they are not contacted to the socket unlocked.
Dude, I like unprofessional vids like this, it's learning from (minor) mistakes.
There's a motto which is very popular where I work 😀
"The only one makes no mistakes is who doesn't work at all."
    Cheers!

  12. your laptop does it have the nvidia nvs3000 chip or not ?
cause mine have only cpu integrated gpu and i need to upgrade cpu

  13. Well the repaste was a bit better on the upgraded cpu but you still put to much on. u only need a baby ball bearing size as it spreads easerly across all the die of cpu. Which can frop temps at least 5 c more.
