  1. These laptops are awesome. I got one because i needed it to teach at university and i am pleased. I really recommend it.

  2. Yup 1366×768 res displays are pretty standard on cheaper devices like this. Sort of glad the Acer Aspire 1 114-31 you reviewed had a 1080p 14" is perfect for linux and writing for me. The Acer is cheap enough that if I want to take it apart to build another project out of it I can and if I screw something up its not going to cost me an arm and a leg to replace if need be. For example I was thinking of taking the keyboard and trackpad off keeping the battery for the 8-9 hour life and flipping the screen around and building a small portable pc out of it which would allow for better heat dissipation by adding a larger heat sink and maybe a small fan as the system locks up constantly on me because it gets to hot in stock config. I already replaced the thermal paste with some artic silver 5 I had laying around
